BRRRRRRR...Baby....it's cold outside!
Thought it was time to do a technique share for you...I've been working on a few lately (it's so cold so I'm hibernating in my stamp room these nights after work).
Okay, so here goes my Dry Embossed Frame technique and also a tutorial on using the Stamp A Ma Jig.
Using my Stampin' Up! Scoring Board and tool, I scored 1/2 an inch around the entire piece of CS.
I used the rulers so that I left the areas around free of being scored. After scoring, you can chose the dry embossed side or flip it over and use the debossed imaged...Fun!
Then comes the Stamp A Ma Jig....I used Vellum Cardstock and made myself a permanent template. Being this stamp set is wood mounted, this eliminates one step. I keep this vellum template right in the box with my stamps. Normally you would align the Stamp A Ma Jig onto the plastic sheet that comes with it in the corner of the sheet and stamp.
Then take that sheet and align where you want the stamped image placed.
Next, ink up your stamp and stamp into the corner of the "T" and stamp.
Then you have the image stamped right where you want it to be....Voila! Perfect!
I stamped the flower image doing the same thing with my Stamp A Ma Jig.
I raised up the image using Stampin' Dimensionals and then a bit of Silver Ribbon and just tied of knot and the card is complete. What do you think?

What a great idea! I have both those things and don't use them enough! Enjoy your blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment...cannot wait to see what you create using this technique!
DeleteThanks for sharing the techniques using the score board and the Stamp A Ma Jig. What a great idea to create a border using the score board. The Stamp A Mag Jig is such a handy tool, but for some reason I hardly ever use it. Your card turned out great! Thanks for a chance to win it. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Colleen....I cannot wait to see how creative you can be using this technique and yes...we always forget about our friend...the Stamp A Ma Jig!
ReplyDeleteElegent card. Love the simplicity of it, but powerful!

I like the idea of stamping on the vellum - I have not used my stamp a ma jig since I bought three years ago. Thanks.
Thank you Donna for your comments. The stamp a am jig is one of those things that is handy when and if needed. I always like to use it for sayings to make sure they are stamped just where I want them. Susan
