Hello Stamper Friends


Wow...it's Sunday and I'm just wondering where the weekend went?  Just seems like it was Friday?  ugh!

Anyhow...what a beautiful weekend....I'm going to share some NSR (non stamping related) as I didn't do any stamping this weekend...the weather was too nice, but I did spend time outdoors.

In my area every year there is an event called Riverfest...it's basically a celebration of the River....she is beautiful but only when she stays within her banks...I wasn't too happy when she paid me a visit in the Fall of 2011...but anyhow...water just seems to have a calming effect.

The event ends up with Dragon Boat races...guess you can count but not sure how many train to be in a dragon boat, but it takes a lot of skill with the team to be in sink to paddle these huge boats.

On Friday there was a ceremony where you "awaken the dragon"  Children from a local dance studio lead the awakening ceremony..it was really quite interesting. These boats come down from Canada.

Once the dragon awakens, the eye is painted to symbolize the awakening.

All in all the weekend of Riverfest was great fun....it's something to look forward to see if you haven't.  It is always held during the month of June...so maybe next year I'll see you there...there are local bands that perform, food vendors, children activities held on the Kingston Side at Nesbitt Park and Wilkes-Barre side at River Common. 

 

Today, spent the afternoon swimming in my son's pool....it was a hot weekend and I got a bit burned....but the pool water temperature was just right.
