Christmas in July Borderline Buddies Challenge

Welcome to Borderline Buddies Wednesday

I feel like I'm late in posting....well....posting on Tuesday evening to post on Wednesday morning is late for me....just got notification from Leanna what this week's challenge was....and although I had a project already created.....I had to do the official posting....so I'm glad I already had something to share...as tonight I feel so tired.....Tuesday Tiredness I guess....

After work today I was itching to head on over to Dollar Tree and Tuesday Morning and I had to stop at the bank....and because I didn't sleep well last night.....I feel like my tank is running on empty...so I think I'll be posting this and then heading to bed....such a sad life I have?  right!

Anyhow.....Leanna's idea for this week was Christmas in July!  Woo Hoo and Yippee!

Let's see what she has to share....

Now...my turn....

If you don't already know...I so love Paper Pumpkin..and I was inspired to create this card after seeing another card online....so, here is my rendition.

The Paper Pumpkin Kit is basically made to create these fun boxes...

I think it is a super fun kit.....but here's one of the "out of the box" projects I came up with

I used the Softly Falling Embossing Folder (item #139672) on Crumb Cake Cardstock cut at 4 x 5 1/4.  I then lightly went direct to paper on the embossed image with the Whisper White Craft Pad and then allowed it to dry.  Our craft ink is a pigment ink and the pad is much different than our foam pads and they are very wet and juicy so you have to take care when doing this.

Did you know you can also emboss with our Whisper White Craft Pad?  You can!  It's a pigment ink so it takes a big longer to dry...just sprinkle on your clear embossing powder and use a heat tool to set it...it's so much fun to emboss...oh...sorry....where was I?  :-)

I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and tore it and adhered it to the bottom layering two pieces.  I then trimmed out a section of the box from the kit to create the tree.  I then used a scrap of Chocolate Chip and cut a small piece to use as the tree trunk and then tucked the trees into the "snow" along the bottom.

I used some dimensionals to give the trees some height...tied on the Emerald Envy Thick Baker's twine along with the tag and stamped using Emerald Envy (all included in the kit) and adhered it to the Emerald Envy cardstock base.

I think it turned out super cute...don't you?

If you are not yet a member of Paper Pumpkin, now is the time to give it a try.  I absolutely love receiving the kits right to my doorstep each and every month...like Christmas each and every month!
