Last night I hosted a fun Paper Flower Creation Class and it was so much fun...not to worry! If you missed out, I'm hosting the same class on Saturday at 10 a.m.....so sign up now to attend....
Also, last night was the night we do our monthly swap. The theme was flowers (as was everything with me this month). I'm anxious for spring...how about you?
So if you didn't attend or were able to swap the cards, don't look...this is a warning...if you want to be surprised...but look....who the heck can wait...right?
Here's my swap card...I have to admit...not my original idea but that's what is great about being able to attend Stampin' Up! events and swap with all my thousands of demonstrator friends....I don't have off hand who created the original idea or what event I swapped at (Maybe Convention 2013)...but I did some tweaks of my own to make it a bit different...
Here's the inside....we always forget to stamp the inside, but when you are working with Basic Black Cardstock, it's sometimes hard to stamp your saying on black, so what I like to do is place a lighter CS on the inside...and stamp...two reasons why this is a good idea....1) if you cannot see what you stamped and 2) you can stamp it first before adhering to the inside, so then if you don't stamp it just right or to your liking, you can flip over the CS and stamp on the other side...you get two chances!
Here's a close up of the outside..I used our new Fringe Scissors instead of ribbon (I think I need to order some ribbons as I seem to be always having to substitute and/or recolor).
I decided it needed a little "bling" so I added a small punched butterfly punched from our Silver Glimmer Paper. The leaves were easily punched from our bird punch and the gingham was created using our Gingham Stampin' Around Wheel...we don't seem to use them enough these days...and all I had to do was run that over the Basic Black Ink pad to do one swipe over the Whisper White CS. I also used the Dots embellishing folder (FREE during SAB) and also some dry embossing on the lower scallop piece of Whisper White CS.
The flowers were stamped and then punched using our flower punch! Fun!
Hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did creating it!
Have a Super Stampin' Day!
Susan
