Paper Flower Pens - Step By Step Technique

It's Thursday...almost the weekend!

So, last night I hosted my Stamp Club...I wanted to share with the ladies some of the new products from the Celebrate the Everyday catalog (which is good through June 1, 2014).

We kept with the flower theme for this month's club get together

We created these fun flowers and attached them to an ink pen...the center of the flower is basically the end of the ink pen...and these are so easy to recreate...here's a tutorial to help you along the way...

First off, I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper.  In these flowers, I used the Kaleidoscope DSP found in our Celebrate The Everyday catalog...love this paper (okay...I admit...I'm a paperholic)....

Here's a close up of the bottom of the flower.

Now...the hardest part is to decide which side of the paper you can your flower to be.  Cut your DSP at 3 inches by 12 inches (you can create 4 of these flowers from one piece of DSP)

Next, using your Paper Trimmer with the scoring blade (the light gray blade that comes with your trimmer), score at the center of the DSP at 1 1/2 inches all the way down the paper

Here I'm scoring the DSP

Next, using your SNAIL, you will want to run the tape along the inside of one of the long ends of the DSP

Next, you want to put a strip of our Red Sticky Strip tape along one edge of the DSP and then fold along the scored line to attach the two long ends together.

Using your Fringe Scissors by Stampin' Up!, you are going to use the Red Sticky Strip as your guide to not cut through the end...you are cutting your fringes along the folded side of the DSP.

Here's what it will look like when you are done.

Now peel off the red protective cover to the Sticky Strip.  Use a piece of Sticky Strip along the ends; one to attach to the pen and the other to finish off after rolling the DSP to create your flower.

And when you are done..here is what it'll look like....

And Voila...paper flower pens...they make a great gift, but be careful, if you are using them for yourself, they will walk off when you turn your back...so be sure to create up a lot of them....so you'll have plenty to share with friends!

Now...go create your own Paper Flower Pens and have a Super Stampin' Day!
