Well, it's Tuesday and thought I would share a technique with you. Now, if you placed an order with me during the month of March...don't look down until you get your mail from me this week....as these are the thank you cards I sent to my customers that placed an order with me this month...a special thank you from me to you.....but if you are like me, you'll look...and that's okay...lol
I thought I would take a moment to share with you how I use our background stamps...they are the size of a front of a standard card....so it can sometimes be tricky using these stamps but with a little bit of help, you'll have perfect results...Okay....so I started with one of my favorite background stamps.....Hardwood...in the current Celebrate catalog.
First...being the stamp is so large, take the ink to the stamp and ink it up really well making sure to cover the entire stamp.
Next, you'll take your cardstock and place it on top of the inked stamp.
Then, take a scrap piece of paper and put it over the top of the cardstock and rub. This will help to ink up your cardstock well and you can even use a brayer if you want. This way, it'll ink up the cardstock and you won't have to worry about getting inky fingers....lol
And here you are.....after I did this, I ended up taking the ink pad to the edges of the cardstock and inked up all the edges..kind of roughing it up a bit. now, if you want to be surprised...don't look any further, but if you must......
Here's my finished card. I ended up placing this piece of cardstock onto the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals. The Thank You stamp was from a photopolymer stamp set and used the Big Shot and Framelits to cut it out and some punches for flowers and bird punch using the feather from the bird to be leaves and the branch. A bit of ribbon and some small brads and more dimensionals...and there you go!
I love this card...I have another one I created which I'll share with you later using different flowers and punch.
Have a super stampin' day!
Susan
