Happy Friday Y'All!
Phew! Gonna be a hot one today and tomorrow and a bit into Sunday as well.....so...too hot for outside work (yippee).....so I'll be inside cleaning up the house and of course time for crafting.
What projects have you been working on? I'd love to see so feel free to share over on my Facebook Page for Customers.....and share what you love doing with others!
One of the best things about being a part of Stampin' Up! is the opportunity to love what I do and share what I love....not just in classes, events, craft shows, etc. but in ways more deeper than that.
Recently I was going through my tons and tons of cards at my house and figured rather than "hoarding" them, I wanted to send them off to people that really may need a boost in life. So I decided to do some research of where I can send them off to and I came across a place called Send a Smile Today......it's an organization that donates to cancer patients.
As many of you know in January this year my mom passed away from uterine cancer.....something that I do not wish upon my worst enemy (not that I have any mind you). I also am a cancer survival but I don't think of myself as that......but I suppose in a way I am....losing a kidney is nothing like what my mom had to go through and I know how much receiving a card just thinking about you meant to her....so that was my mission......I went through some of my cards...just some mind you...and gathered them together. When I hosted my Annual Catalog BINGO I asked those attending to write a little something in the cards and that I was going to be sending them off. So after the event I took time and wrote out tons of cards......and off they went....two Priority Envelopes stuffed full of cards.
Here's a picture of some of the cards that were sent to them:
They were so sweet.....and send me this beautiful thank you card....which I didn't really expect at all!
So.....this made such a warm feeling inside.....and another reason I love what I do....and I love sharing my love with others through hand stamped cards. It's a good feeling......
Here's a sheet from their website on what you can say inside...and more details about sending cards!
This was taken from their Facebook Page....if you can....please consider making a few extra cards and writing inside and don't forget to sign you name and send them off to them. They also can use postage, envelopes and of course if you don't craft at all, you can send a monetary donation.
Do you want to make a positive impact on those with cancer? Help support our organization by making handmade cards. We mail cards monthly to cancer patients, for free, thanks to our many donors and supporters. Click here bit.ly/CMG0319
