It's another Borderline Buddies Wednesday....and a whole new month.
This month was Leanna's turn to decide what we will challenge and create for you.
Her choice was techniques and a bit of Easter towards the end of the month!
Perfect!.....right......
So let's see what Leanna has to share this week:
Now my turn......
I'm not sure this technique has a "technical" name, so I'm going to pick one of my own....
Embossed Sponging
First off, I took Whisper White cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot using the Confetti embossing folder.
Then, using our Stampin' Sponges, I used Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Mint Macaron and sponged around all the embossed edges...being careful to leave the center open.
I started with my lightest color first, being the Daffodil....and then the Mambo and ended with the Mint Macaron.....the colors blended together where they overlapped....
I stamped the cake and then stamped the saying on top and fussy cut it out....the candle was stamped and punched out using the coordinating Party Punch Pack. (purchasing both the stamp set and the punches saves you 15%)
The Baker's Twine Combo Pack is in the Occasions Catalog...and I separated out the black from the Mambo...and just applied to the back of the cake piece...
This sample was a copy from the Occasions Catalog....
Here are two more variations...
I have to admit that once I got sponging...I couldn't stop myself! :-)
So.....what do you think? Which is your favorite?
Now make sure you come back next Wednesday to see what else I'm going to do using our Stampin' Sponges......
